Byvoorbeeld
4 duim (100 mm) Skedule 40 pyp het 'n buitedeursnee van 4.500 duim (114.30 mm), 'n wanddikte van 0.237 duim (6.02 mm), wat 'n boring van 4.026 duim (102.26 mm) gee.
4 duim (100 mm) Bylae 80 pyp het 'n buitedeursnee van 4,500 duim (114,30 mm), 'n wanddikte van 0,337 duim (8,56 mm), wat 'n boring van 3,826 duim (97,18 mm) gee.
1 duim (duim) = 25,4 mm
Die pypskedulenommer is die verhouding van die ontwerpdruk van die pyp tot die toelaatbare spanning van die materiaal by die ontwerptemperatuur vermenigvuldig met 1000 en afgerond.
